We believe that success – in every area of life – is nurtured, and this requires sustained commitment and drive. We also believe that opportunities must be made available to all.
Therefore, our job is simply to walk alongside every girl, providing her with the challenges and opportunities to fulfil her potential. So, when Oxbridge colleges visit Tudor Hall, every girl in the appropriate year groups attend.
Our programme extends throughout the school, and students meet regularly to sharpen their skills of logical and lateral thought. Recent topics have included: ‘What would happen if, overnight, cars were able to run on water?’ and ‘How should Apple spend its billions?
In addition to the school’s lecture programme, girls working towards an Oxbridge application will receive the very best personalised support we can find: a student holding an offer to read law at Magdalene College, Cambridge, worked on the fine detail of her UCAS personal statement with both a London barrister and a London solicitor. We have students attending thought-provoking and challenging residential conferences (Trinity College Oxford's Dicey Conference and Newnham College Cambridge's Rosalind Franklin Conference).
We run our own events in Oxford and Cambridge to inspire and inform. These have seen our girls in Trinity, Lincoln and Merton colleges (Oxford) and at Peterhouse (Cambridge). These students also spent an afternoon working at the Fitzwilliam Museum.
We host events for other schools, including workshops on interview techniques and general access events, delivered by both the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge.
Ultimately, strength of our package lies in our teamwork: our EPQ programme, our excellent tutors, our Heads of Department, our Old Girls, our librarian - this adds up to an excellent package - a package which every girl has the opportunity to access.
